On Friday April 22, Mark Wolbers, President of the Alaska Pioneer Fruit Growers Association (APFGA.org) taught us the basics of apple tree pruning. using several demonstration trees, he explained the difference between ’heading’ and ’thinning’ cuts, the response of the tree to the cuts, and other important considerations. If you missed this workshop, you can join us next Friday April 29 for our final pruning class.
