KIDS-we love them! They are always welcome at Boyer's. Please monitor them, teach them not to climb the trees or pick fruit until permitted. And remember we do have tripping hazard, bees, and no bathroom on site.
PETS-we love them too, but please leave them at home unless they are a leashed service animal.
Thursday April 11, 4:00 - 6:00 pm Scion Sale. 645 E. 81st Ave. Anchorage. Scions from Boyer's Trees will be available for purchase. $2 each for a 6-8 inch scion stick for trees zoned 1-4. Apples, Peaches, Plums, Apricots, and Cherries. Pre-order by sending us an email with your request, or choose your scions at the sale. Cash or cards. Shipping available for $10. Thursday April 18, 4:00-6:00 pm Learn to Prune hands-on pruning workshop and volunteer event. $40 class fee is waived if you volunteer and help us prune the orchard. Bring your tools or use ours. Dress for the weather (including snowshoes) info@alaskaorchard.org
Thursday May 2, 5:00-7:00 pm Boyer's Grafting Workshop. $40 includes your rootstock, scion and grafting instructions and supplies. Take home a hardy Alaskan apple tree and learn the ancient art of grafting. Class is limited to 10 people please contact us to reserve your spot. info@alaskaorchard.org
Volunteer Days Thursdays May-October 4:00-6:00 pm Join us at Boyer's for some fun work and good vibes. Bring gloves, eye protection, and tools. Tasks will depend on the current need but may include cleaning the grounds, mowing, weed whacking, building garden beds, shoveling materials, planting trees, thinning, or pruning. No need to sign up, just come with your smile.
Saturday June 15, 12:00-4:00 pm 3rd Annual Boyer's Blossom Festival. Purchase trees, enjoy live music, grafting demonstrations, vendors, family activities, photo sessions, and Beautiful Blossoms! Tickets $10 each or $30 for families. info@alaskaorchard.org
I’m happy to volunteer in any way that I can help (mowing, weeding, you name it). I am free typically from 5-7 on Thursday (barring a couple of state trips in mid August). I’m admittedly growing my first apple and cherry trees and hoping to learn something in the process 🙂
