Ms. Hickok, I looked up my order with St. Lawrence Nurseries and the plum varieties I ordered for our edible landscaping project were Toka (3), Vermont (2), Alderman (1), and Pittson #10 (1).
Toka is a good choice, very hardy, and one I’d like to trial here at Boyers. We have a Ptitsin #9 in the orchard that produces consistently but I’m not sure how it compares to Ptitsin #10. Alderman is one my neighbor just planted last year and I’m going to watch closely. Rootstock matters though. Try to find out the rootstock of your trees and keep that information handy as well. Keep us posted on your plums!
